Quality Audio Equipment, very easy to use and the most important. Great Tech Support

This multi room amp came well packaged and appears to be very nicely made and good quality! We’ve been looking for something like this to hook up multiple rooms and the options on this one seemed to be everything we were looking for. The price point is a little steep but in line with other like amps of this style. We have not got it hooked up yet (waiting on our son in law to help us do that) but once we install I will update my review if it doesn’t work as it should or we encounter any issues.

Mrs. Review It

I had used HEOS in the past, and SONOS. I wanted something that would allow my wife to play through our installed speakers in the house without needing a ton of explanation, and the HEOS app wasn’t great. I was considering another streaming amp which was more expensive, but found this one and saw all the reviews. I figured it was worth a shot to save a few $$.

The version I got had old firmware, but I reached out to the support email and quickly got a response. They set me up with the newer version of the firmware, and it installed seamlessly and allowed me to set up the Airplay names and zones exactly how I wanted them. It worked great, and is so simple to use from whichever app you like to play music from. I’m all-in on the Apple ecosystem, so Airplay is my goto.

I recommend this over the much more expensive options for music distributed throughout your home.

I waited quite some time to ensure that there would be a decent review written about this product. The sound quality is really great. Initially it was a little challenging for me to set up, but is actually easy to use going forward and it’s very functional. the amplifier is really good and I love that you can use it throughout the house and control just from one area, it is built with really good quality and seems like it will withstand time

This thing actually works great, very powerful and crisp sound quality.

Easy to set up and the sound quality is very impressive. I am very happy with this device. The quality is much better. Great product. Well made, great sound quality and I am very happy with this device so far. The device offers many possible ways to send files to the stereo and speakers.

Had a clunky set up with four components in order to play music on speakers in house. No volume controls in the rooms made me crazy. Reached out to Halo-whas to inquire about their system. Customer service is incredible. All my questions were answered immediately. I installed the system myself, downloaded the app and have a fully functioning system. Can adjust the volume in any zone via the app. Incredibly straightforward system. Highly recommend. This company was a pleasure to deal with.

Never seen better support for a hardware product. The team is very responsible on email, including giving custom builds for features. Full AirPlay 2 support including synchronized music. Can synchronize on multiple machines. HTTP APIs to control the system howsoever you want including Home Assistant.

When I first received this I was sceptical. I did some research on some other brands and this one and I decided to go with this. The first 25 minutes of setting it up I turned it on and noticed only AirPlay 1. so I was about to pack everything up and send it back but decided to send a quick email regarding this issue. company responded insanely fast via email and sent me an update file. Installing it took literally one minute and now all my zones are independent and all working with AirPlay 2. I also addressed an issue with the iOS app and it was literally updated a couple days later very pleased with the service so far and hopefully they continue to provide good service, and updates. so if you’re going to purchase this, make sure you send an email for the updated file that supports AirPlay 2

It’s a bit on the expensive side here in Canada, but I guess you gotta pay to play. Now I only have one receiver versus eight airport expresses and amplifiers.

Awesome amps and awesome quality.

I am absolutely thrilled with the Holowhas+ Airplay 8 Zone Home Audio System! The sound quality is phenomenal, and it has truly transformed my home audio experience. The setup was straightforward, and the system integrates seamlessly with my other devices.

What really stood out to me was the excellent customer care and technical support. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, the response was prompt and incredibly helpful. The team went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with my purchase.

The system is worth the investment and is very customizable. There is nothing on the market similar in this price point. I highly recommend the Holowhas+ Airplay Eight Zone Home Audio System to anyone looking for a top-notch audio solution. It’s worth every penny!

Thank you for such a fantastic product and outstanding service! Highly recommend!!

The StreamerAmp Pro absolutely delivers! This 150W streaming amplifier packs serious punch and easily fills my large living room with rich, high-fidelity sound. It has more than enough power to drive my speakers without breaking a sweat.

One of my favorite features is the AirPlay 2 support—it’s a game changer. I can stream music not just to this amp, but to other AirPlay 2 amps around the house simultaneously. It’s like having one unified sound system, which is perfect when we’re hosting parties or just want music flowing through every room.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for powerful sound with modern streaming convenience.

I recently got the StreamerAmp Pro, and it’s been a great match for my 300W desktop speakers. I used to work in the cinema business and owned Dolby’s DMA32031. It has a 2200W (220V*10A) power input, with each of its 32 channels maxing out at 300W, totaling 9600W. But since not all channels hit 300W at the same time, the 2200W input is perfectly fine. I saw a review where someone thought the input power should be equal or greater than the max power per channel times the number of channels. That’s just not right; they clearly don’t get basic audio stuff.

chris Pagakis

This little power amplifier seems at first reckoning to be somewhat lightweight to have any real grunt, BUT, I powered two small emotiva speakers with these and they were extremely articulate, I did not have any large speakers to ascertain bass response or control but the ability of this amp to present detail was surprising.

Magan

This product is so good and works well. The sound quality is pretty good and loved using this product.

I have two homes. One home has 2 Juke Audio multi-room amplifiers. The other (which is brand new), I used the Holo-Whas. What a difference. The Juke sound is not as crisp and sometimes there is hum. Additionally, the software constantly disconnects and I need a reboot to get it to work.

The Holo-Whas has amazing, crisp and distortion free sound. Far superior to the Juke. The Holo-Whas software is still needing some love. Lots of bugs and a problem with the software needing to constantly connect. That said, it’s not much worse than Juke’s software. Hopefully it will improve.

For some background, I connected the Holo-Whas to a Wiim Ultra. Works seamlessly. At the other home, the Juke is connected to a Sonos. I am going to pull the Sonos and connect a Wiim and see if some of the problems go away. The two Jukes are networked and I don’t know if that has anything to do with the problems that I have with that platform.

Anyway, for now… I feel the Holo-Whas is a better platform for crisp and clear audio.

I bought this to play ceiling speakers in the patio. I needed 16 channels as I was going to install 8 dual voice coil speakers to get both the right and left channel of sound in each zone. This unit has no outside switches other than a power button. It streams and plays 8 zones, 16 speakers and is controlled with the provided app off a apple oe in my case, samsung cell phone. The amp produces 60 watts a channel and this is plenty for the 8″ ceiling speakers I installed. I can’t comment on durability yet, as I recently purchased this amp, but so issues so far. The most important to me is that it is simple to use wirelessly, set up is simple, and it does what it says it will without having to purchase a separate streamer in addition to this. The tech support actually exists, and is helpful, unlike others who claim to have support!

Excellent 8 Zone Multi-Room Streaming Amplifier at a very reasonable price with lots power. It has an user friendly iPhone app that is easy to setup. It will Stream Wirelessly via with Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, DLNA, USB.

TLDR if you want AirPlay and have lots of in-ceiling speakers this is the ONLY product for you. I have been searching for years and tried a bunch of alternatives. When I encountered an issue, OpenAudio worked quickly with me to resolve. I’m an incredibly satisfied customer.

Initially, I thought I was very lucky to have found a house with speakers everywhere that had been correctly wired to a central network closet. Then I was shocked when I tried to find solutions allowing me to AirPlay to every room. I had multiroom amplifiers but I would have needed to buy 20+ individual AirPlay preamps. Which means either terrible WiFi congestion or 20+ Ethernet cables to go along with the 20+ power sources. Ewwww. I settled for this for years and only had music in a couple rooms.

Now there are a handful of similar products that either cost 10x, have fewer sources, use AirPlay 1 only, or simply don’t look as clean.

So I ordered three of these. As I unboxed the first one, I was impressed with packaging, this wasn’t knocked around in transit. Then I was impressed with build quality, while lightweight it feels very solid. I quickly installed it in my rack and got to playing.

At first the app design was a little confusing, as I’ve found is typical with any matrix (many source to many zone) product. But it works just fine 🙂

Then came the disappointment. I couldn’t rename the AirPlay sources. So to play music in the kitchen I would have to remember to AirPlay to “AirPlay 1(HoloWHAS-10064)”. So I reached out to the company and they quickly responded.

Customer service, especially for hardware, is a rare commodity these days. They understood my concerns and proposed a solution. Given my background in technology, I was excited to help test updates (firmware/software) that would enable this new functionality.

They even surprised me by upgrading the device from 4×8 to 8×8.Now every zone has a custom named AirPlay 2 zone. I have been enjoying music much more as a result 🙂

I’m incredibly glad I reached out instead of just returning them and continuing my years long search. You should just buy this and be happy too!

Great product

I was a bit skeptical of getting this amplifier because I’ve been accustomed to installing either larger/heavier amps+preamps for my house installs or installing Sonos and Sonos-type alternatives. The costs of those going from high hundreds for single zones to thousands for multiple zones.

The HoloWHAS to me seems like a winner.

– I migrated from an amp+preamp to this in about 15-20 min.

– It’s light so you don’t need a lot of support when mounting in a server rack.

– I hardwired it to my network, installed the app, and the app found it immediately.

The app took a few minutes of playing around to get used to it. Once you do, it’s smooth sailing.

I think to most critical part of this purchase and test for me was confirming that the support is great. They respond within 24 hours and offer real solutions.

For anyone wondering – when I purchased my 8-zone amp, its firmware by default supported 4 sources. So if you had 8 rooms connected to the amp, you’d presumably group across the 4 sources. If you reach out to support they’ll be able to send you a firmware update – copy the file to a flash drive, connect it to the amp, wait ~30 seconds, and you’ll see the app update to now support 8 sources.

The sources that it’s currently supporting (fw v1.0.87) are:

– Spotify

– AirPlay

– DLNA (though I haven’t tested this one yet)

– RCA (via an adapter, not included. RCA to usb)

This product works exactly as advertised and has been a great addition to my setup. I initially had trouble configuring my wired speakers from the 1990s, but their support team was exceptional—providing assistance via email and even Zoom calls. The issue turned out to be a wiring problem on my end. Once I resolved it, everything worked flawlessly.

Now, I have music playing seamlessly across several zones in my house. I frequently use AirPlay, and it performs without any hiccups. I plan to try Spotify and other modes soon and will update my review if necessary.

One of the standout aspects of this company is their openness to suggestions and feedback. It’s reassuring to know there are real people behind the product who genuinely care about their customers’ experiences.

I’ve been comparing all the options for whole home audio and settled on the Holo-Whas. It arrived on time and was packaged very well. The unit itself appears to be built well and has a very sleek look that will fit nicely in my media rack. I haven’t finished setting everything up yet as the house is still under construction. I wanted to test it out, though, and hooked it up a pair of monoprice in ceiling speakers. It powered them up nicely. I was concerned there wouldn’t be enough power, but in my small little trial the speakers were very loud. I’ve reached out to the company several times with pre and post purchase questions about the Holo-Whas unit and can say their customer support has been very good. I’ll update this review after I’m done setting everything up.

I never heard of Halo Sound, but decided to give this product a try based on other positive reviews and the price, which is a good bit less than comparable products.

Hardware is easy to install. The software interface that runs on your mobile phone is simple and intuitive. They provide pretty good instructions to set up the hardware with the software, but they must be carefully followed or you may get sidetracked. Once setup, product works as advertised. I have a zone in the house where I run speakers in parallel which bring the impedance down to 4 ohms. Was concerned that the amplifier might not perform well at a lower impedance, but it seems to do just fine. S

Most impressive is their support which is provided via email. Halo may be a small company, but they are clearly trying to build a great reputation based on good customer experience. They were tripping over themselves to help me with an upgrade to their firmware.

We will see how the product does over the long haul, but right now I am a pretty satisfied customer.

I moved into a house pre-wired for in ceiling speakers in 6 rooms about a year ago and have been looking for a system to utilize them. My observation is that almost everything out there is catered to professional installers and/or doesn’t have easy to use mechanisms to connect and play from your audio sources. I shopped around for a month trying to find the best solution to replace my burned out sony bluetooth receiver + Dayton audion 6 zone 35lbs amp and came across HOLO-WHAS. Its not the cheapest solution by far, but the idea of amp+wi-fi receiver in one got my attention. We have larger house with 8 zones and 16 speakers so the 8-zone was perfect match. I talked to a representative before I pulled the trigger on the purchase and they explained that it will connect wireless over Wi-Fi with very strong signal within 15ft of router, but it works best if wired directly via ethernet. I installed the system in about 45 minutes and had sound to the whole house immediately.I am completely satisfied with the quality of sound and features, especially having line level outputs for each zone as well as regular speaker connections. Individual controls for each zone allows me to balance the zones volume while the main volume handles all zones with equal volume control and mute.I definitely recommend HOLO-WHAS products as they do not disappoint.

I extensively researched all the streaming amps. I am not an audiophile. But I like all kinds of music. Myself, my wife, and my kids couldn’t be happier with these. They were extremely easy to setup. The ethernet ones are automatically recognized by the app. The extra bass feature is also a surprise, because you really do feel the extra bass, without it being overwhelming. But it depends on the files you’re listening to, because some songs do exhibit an overabundance of bass with “extra bass” applied. Without the “extra bass” (I’m sure it has to do with the speakers as well), I find the bass to be more than sufficient for a good balance, and pleasurable listening, but the extra bass provides some deeper resonating hits.Totally happy with this little thing that allows me to have some soothing jazz at night while I go to sleep, or a morning wake-up alarm to music of my choosing, or simply background music during my workday or creative endeavors, without disturbing everyone else.I would recommend this if you are looking for a great sounding and affordable multi-room music system for your home.

Like a previous reviewer wrote, it’s one of the only solutions out there for 8 zones of airplay 2. I replaced 7 airport expresses and a gigantic amp with this and I am very happy (see pics). It originally had 4 zones but the really responsive manufacturer sent me a firmware update to get 8. It was a little quirky at first but realized the Ethernet connection was causing it. Once I switched to just WiFi it worked great. Really my only small complaint is the zones are a little underpowered but if I turn it up to 80% it’s about as loud as I would probably ever want it for ceiling speakers. Great product thanks!

I’ve been searching for a streaming amplifier for a while now that, it is being used for my in ceiling speakers. I’ve looked at all different brands such as Juke, Vssl & and more but they come with a very expensive price point. After going over and comparing all the specs I decided to go with the Holo Whas. Im incredibly happy I did it works great and couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I currently have mine mounted in a rack, the quality seems good, extremely easy setup, & does exactly what I need it to. Even if you’re not using all 8 zones right now it allows you to expand your system down the road. Open Audio was also very helpful in answers all my questions. Would definitely recommend this amplifier!

Great hardware, loud high quality sound and easy setup. Super easy to update firmware if needed – just plug in USB flash drive with new file and it takes few seconds.

Software on iOS is a little clunky but vendor is amazing and iterating very very fast to make it better.

Amazing high value alternative to Sonos, Wiim, and Juke amplifiers.

Fits on my home rack perfectly!

I discovered the HOLO-WHAS 8 Zone Multi-Room Amplifier. Despite its higher price, the combination of amp and Wi-Fi receiver intrigued me, and it turned out to be a perfect fit for my 8-zone, 16-speaker setup.

Installation was straightforward, taking about 45 minutes. The system delivered sound to the entire house immediately. The quality is outstanding, with features like line-level outputs for each zone and individual controls for balanced volume. While the best connection is via Ethernet, the Wi-Fi works well within 15 feet of the router.

Previously, we used a Yamaha amp and Alexa, but frequent issues made it impractical. Now, with HOLO-WHAS, our whole home audio works seamlessly, with no interruptions. For those in the Apple ecosystem, this device is indispensable.

The sound is clear, and it has sufficient power for all zones. For under $1300, it offers incredible value compared to quotes from major companies.

Dear MR.J

I just bought it a few days ago, and I have been very happy with it. it was simple to set up, and works well from both iOS and android devices.

I came across the Holo-Whas multi-room amplifier as the best solution to use pre-existing ceiling speakers (20-year-old, 6.5″ SpeakerCraft speakers) spread across the house and mostly in the different rooms of the open-plan first floor.

My top requirement was that it had to be friendly to everyone at home using Apple devices – from adults using iPhones to kids using iPads – and this one delivers! A custom app maps specific sound sources (AirPlay, Spotify connect, USB or Bluetooth) to any grouping of speaker zones, so everyone can have “their” preferred source. Note that a speaker can be assigned to just one source at a time, so one might have to remap the source/speakers pairs as needed.

Second requirement, budget. The only competition I found is Juke Audio, which has a very similar product quite a bit more expensive – and with much less power. More on this next.

Third, is sound quality. Looking at the component ratings of my old SpeakerCrafts I figured I needed at least 40 to 60W per channel. The Juke 8 only carried 20W and some of its reviews mention under-powering, so I was unconvinced. The Holo-Whas claims 60W per channel; I did not independently verify, but my speakers sing with it! The sound produced by this combination is actually very detailed and balanced, nothing metallic or tinny like I usually hear with soundbars; I might even connect a speaker-level subwoofer in the future to improve the sound further on that first floor. I also was able to connect my only two wired sources to one USB input. The first source is a Sonos Connect (for legacy purposes, since I still have older Sonos speakers in some rooms) that I connect via an RCA to USB converter (DigitNow capture card grabber, which provides excellent sound dynamics btw). The second is an HDMI ARC audio extractor for playing the sound of my TV, since unfortunately the Bluetooth audio built in the Holo-Whas has a small delay and looks out of synch with the TV picture – but no more delay via HDMI ARC. I connected the 3.5mm output of the ARC extractor to the DigitNow, and all works well. I can now send the sound from the TV in the open family room to the dining or the kitchen that looks to it.

Finally, I want to mention the support has been impressive so far, just as described in other reviews. I received next-day answers to all my questions and was sent a link to the latest firmware which can just be loaded to the amp with a USB flash drive. I also understand the manufacturer plans to stand behind this product and provide replacement if it fails.

All in all, this is a solid 5-star product so far. I love that it has all what is needed to power 16 speakers (8 zones) with today’s wifi/Bluetooth connectivity in just one box.

I bought this product to replace an aging Russound system that is no longer supported. We have a large home with 8 zones with built in Polk ceiling speakers. The Russound system was put in during our build in 2007/2008 and technology has vastly changed. I burned over 300 CDs on the media server and system used keypads to access content. It was connected through my wired network so I was able to buy a few Apple Airport Expresses and place strategically throughout the house and program an input on the keypad for Airplay in order to listen to music, YouTube, Podcasts, etc. from my iPhone/iPad. Then Apple quit making the Airport devices which eventually over time quit working.

Here is where Holo-Whas comes in. I was able to remove my existing Russound components that I have mounted on a rack in my network closet. The Holo-Whas is also rack-mountable. I plugged it into my network switch so it is hard wired like the Russound system. I removed the keypads from all 8 rooms and planned to patch the old holes. The speaker wires were easy to install into the Holo-Whas unit. I purchased this unit back in July 2024. I initially could not get the Holo-Whas app to work correctly before finding out that the app was replaced with Holo-Home. I could not get it to work correctly at first such as assigning Zones, renaming Zones, setting up inputs, etc. I contacted customer service by email and got a response back within an hour. They sent me a new firmware update with instructions. It was easy to install and now it works perfectly. I also now can use 8 input source as opposed to the original 4 when I bought it which was an added bonus.

The 60 watts per channel are enough to drive my high end Polk speakers. I don’t blast music any longer so I can’t speak for everyone. I can stream YouTube, YouTube TV audio, Apple Music, Podcasts, etc. without any issues. I bought a USB to RCA line in adapter to hook up an old CD player which also works well. My wife doesn’t want to give up listening to her Christmas CDs.

This a very good solution for home audio and made my old system replaceable for not a whole lot of money. I did look a JukeBox but there were complaints about their system being underpowered. Holo-Whas worked great for my needs and customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend this product.
